Ranking of sequencing rules in a job shop scheduling problem with preference selection index approach

چکیده
Scheduling different jobs in an appropriate sequence are very important manufacturing industries due to the influence of conflicting criteria. It becomes difficult as job number increases numerous computations involved. In this article, six considered be treated on a machine one by one. Seven priority sequencing rules provide seven options for which assessed using set nine Preference selection index (PSI) approach, multi-criterion decision-making (MCDM) technique is proposed rank them from best worst. The PSI unlike other MCDM methods, does not require find relative significance criteria, reduces work finding weights criteria hence easy and effective tool decision making. A benchmark problem previous literature solved approach obtained results found correct.

Train Scheduling Problem with Consideration of Praying Constraint as an Application of Job Shop Scheduling Problem
The present paper extends the idea of job shop scheduling problem with resting constraints to the train scheduling problem with the Muslim praying considerations. For this purpose, after proposing the new mathematical model, a heuristic algorithm based on the Electromagnetism-Like algorithm (EM) which is well adjusted to scheduling problems is employed to solve the large-size practical cases. T...
متن کاملFlow shop Scheduling Problem with Maintenance Coordination: a New Approach
This study investigates the coordination of production scheduling and maintenance planning in theflow shop scheduling environment. The problem is considered in a bi-objective form, minimizing themakespan as the production scheduling criterion and minimizing the system unavailability as themaintenance planning criterion. The time interval between consecutive maintenance activities as well as the...
متن کاملA New Approach in Job Shop Scheduling: Overlapping Operation
In this paper, a new approach to overlapping operations in job shop scheduling is presented. In many job shops, a customer demand can be met in more than one way for each job, where demand determines the quantity of each finished job ordered by a customer. In each job, embedded operations can be performed due to overlapping considerations in which each operation may be overlapped with the other...

متن کاملA Genetic Algorithm Approach to Dynamic Job Shop Scheduling Problem
This paper describes a genetic algorithm approach to the dynamic job shop scheduling problem with jobs arriving continually. Both deterministic and stochastic models of the dynamic problem were investigated. The objective functions examined were weighted flow time, maximum tardiness, weighted tardiness, weighted lateness, weighted number of tardy jobs, and weighted earliness plus weighted tardi...
